Privacy notice

Last updated 4 November 2026

This notice explains what we collect when you take the Hearthwood quiz or join the founding list, why we collect it and what you can ask us to do with it.

Who we are

Hearthwood Family Village is a working name of [Company name] Ltd, registered in England and Wales, company number [company number], [registered office address]. We are the controller of your personal data. You can contact us at [hello@ email address].

What we collect

We don't ask for, and you shouldn't give us, information about health, religion or other special categories of data. We ask only for the age groups of your children, never their names, and the quiz is for adults only.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us or by using the unsubscribe link in any email. This doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

Who we share it with

We never sell your data. We use a small number of service providers who process it for us under contract:

Some of these providers are based in the United States. Where your data leaves the UK, it is protected by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Keeping it safe

Your details are stored in an encrypted database that only our small team can reach. Our team chat sees a summary without your contact details. We don't use your data to make automated decisions about you.

How long we keep it

We keep your details for up to 24 months after your last contact with us, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever is sooner. Answers we use only in summary form, with no names attached, may be kept for longer.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable form. Email [hello@ email address] and we will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
